For the social networking fathers short on time…
I’m going to try out the Opera 6.3 browser today. It’s supposed to be the button’s biscuits in terms of social media. And so far, I like that aspect a lot. I find managing several tabs and pages to be a bit of a burden sometimes. But Opera so far allows this user to open new tabs real quickly (without having to go through the drop-down menu at all) and on the new tab, preview oft-visited sites. As long as it’s better than IE, I’ll be cool with it.
I’ll let you know how this all turns out, of course…
So far it seems pretty decent. I haven’t run it through a lot of tests because, well, frankly, I wouldn’t know how to and wouldn’t have the foggiest how to clean up my computer if something were to happen to it. And so I’m sticking with my beloved Firefox and will probably use the O for, say, opening my other gmail/google account if I need both opened.
I’d largely stick with Ff because it has more experience, and is highly recommended by people who know. What I can’t understand is why companies still use IE. I’m guessing because it’s free for them, or at least on the surface it’s free (or cheaper). It’s kind of like asking why people are still using hotmail or yahoo email accounts. Just don’t understand some people…
So, my recommendation: try it, but use it as a back-up or for the more trusted and regularly visited sites.
